A FEW MONTHS BACK THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED HERE IN LA...NOT ONLY WAS SOMEONE ABLE TO CONVINCE THE LOCAL GOVERMENT TO GRANT PERMISSION FOR A LARGE SECTION OF THE L.A. RIVER TO BE PAINTED...LEGALLY, BUT APPARENTLY FUND IT AS WELL (RUMORS CIRCULATING SAY THAT MANONE RECIEVED A VERY LARGE GRANT). THE EVENT WENT DOWN SURPRISINGLY SMOOTH WITH MINIMAL DRAMA. MOST IMPORTANTLY NO WEAPONS! -AND THE MAJORITY OF THE 300 OR SO WRITERS ACTUALLY PAINTED SOME DECENT STUFF ON THE WALLS....
-THEN SOME STUPID BITCH IN THE CITY COUNCIL HEARD ABOUT IT AND SENT A CAL-TRANS CREW DOWN THERE TO BUFF EVERYTHING....WTF???

-GOOD LOOKIN' OUT MORGAN WELLS FOR GIVING HER A EARFUL.

Arroyo Seco Mural "Cleaning" a Disgrace

Dear Ms. Molina,

Your destruction of the passionate work of more than 300 artists at the Los Angeles River is a disgrace. Not only was the work legal and sanctioned, but beautiful as well. These artists donated their time and the cost of their supplies to help make the grimy, desolate LA River vibrant and full of life. I think the public deserves an answer on why you would complain about such an amazing display of solidarity and creativity in your community... especially since the other members of your council pre-approved the project.

Perhaps these artists should take legal action against you for the incredible damage you caused. Even if you only look at the amount of money they spent on supplies and the labor they put into it, you would owe these artists more than a million dollars. Think about it. 

Please step back into reality and remember the constituents you serve, perhaps saving your personal opinions on what constitutes art for the choices you make at home. Your actions in calling for the buffing of these beautiful works of art are despicable. "No comment" isn't good enough. Your community wants an answer, and we will continue to contact you until you stand up and take responsibility for your actions. We are outraged.
